A Berlin City Guide

11.6.18

On a sunny day of June (and a million years too late) she posted her Berlin city guide, hooray!
Two years ago, my boyfriend and I decided that for each birthday and Christmas, we would get each other a trip. This Christmas, Berlin was his treat to me and I think that he was spot on.

Fluffy Jumper with Checked Trousers

10.3.18
I have given up on trying to find a wintery landscape here on the Costa Del Sol although I do like winter very much. It's just impossible! So even if these pictures are quite strange as the general wintery mood of the outfit greatly contrasts with the weather and the setting, I am sure that you won't hold it against me :)

What I've Been Up To This Year

29.11.17
I haven't been very active on the blog this year. Actually, if you check the latest posts, I think that my new year resolutions post comes third and clearly, you can see that "being more consistent with my blog" was not quite one of them.

Overall though I have been good enough at sticking to my resolutions even if adding more sport to my routine has been complicated and I have to admit that I did not really stick to this one. I kept on attending Krav Maga sessions but that's where it stopped really.
Shortly after I posted my Resolutions article, my workload went up and up as I added some free-lance work to my already busy time table and I found it hard to even write on the blog. Sometimes my dream is to have 36-hour days...

Like I said, I think that I have been pretty good with my other resolutions especially with the one about travelling. This year, I have added Denmark, Poland, Scotland and Switzerland to my list, and I have visited the West Coast and the North of Ireland and a place in France that I really wanted to see: Oradour-sur-Glane (if you like history, you should Google it. It's fascinating). I have really enjoyed all of these trips and I have already planned new ones (including THE biggie) for next year and I might talk about them here some day. My mom's collection of touristic fridge magnets has kept growing and my dad even said "the door is so heavy it's going to fall apart if she continues".

There was one thing that I had not planned though: I moved to Spain! In February, a brilliant job opportunity came up and I just had to go for it. So here I am now, back to the roots!

2017 has been very intense and full of changes in my life, in every single aspect of it. Some were great, some not so much but there is one other resolution I have endeavoured to stick to: keep on being positive and counting my blessings.

How was your 2017?

Mika

Red and Black

29.1.17

New year, new hair!

I can remember myself in nursing school, claiming that red was my favourite colour. Those were the days and I was 4, but it seems like nothing has changed since. Recently, I have been in the mood for wearing more red, and I believe that nothing could have done the job better than this coat.

There is one thing I forgot: coming from a town where rugby is an institution and where our team's official colours are red and black, I've had to listen to a few hilarious jokes such as "are you taking supporting the club to the higher level?" or "Is there a game today?"

And there is also that girl that I met as I was heading out who told me "OMG, you're so cute with your coat, you're like Little Red Riding Hood!"

I hope you have a great week,

Mika aka the Big Bad Wolf

5 New Year Resolutions

8.1.17

Happy New Year everyone! After a really nice Christmas holiday back in France, the blog is back in action.

On my flight back to England, I was thinking about New Year resolutions that I would be able to stick to because I find it quite rewarding to achieve my goals and I like the idea of keeping myself busy.

Timeless Trench Coat, Cursed Blog and Unfortunate Events

8.12.16

If there is a coat which I think never goes out of fashion, it's the trench coat. Whether you are 16 or 80, you can't do it wrong with it as it's a classic. I got mine in high school, and I might look like it was last year for me but it actually was 8 years ago. Since then, it's been my faithful companion and I have worn it an incalculable number of times. And yet here it is, still looking good.
Well, a bit less good since a seagull decided to relieve itself on it literally the day after I took those pictures.
Which made me realise something: since I started this blog, the list of clothes that I ruined very soon after I mentioned them here is getting longer and longer.
First there were those Maje Shoes that ended up with a broken heel two days after I posted my article (sorry for the blurry pictures, I hope I have made progress since). I had it repaired but only recently...
I also ironed that shirt on the wrong side and made a massive hole in it which my granny miraculously repaired.
Then there were the silver creepers with a cracked sole, which I'm still wearing regardless.
Oh, and what about those River Island ones with a broken elastic strap? Back to the shop!
And I know I'm forgetting some of them, but I'm starting to think that this blog is cursed!
Unfortunately, I'll need a bit more to stop posting here.

So what do you think about this trench? Apart from the fact that it's a good target for seagulls...

PS: I haven't talked too much about the boots I'm wearing here although they are my new favourite thing in the world, but that's because I will soon write an article on a few French brands of shoes that I like. Interested?

Mika.

One Green Bottle

17.10.16
I know I took some time to post this outfit but I had quite a busy week juggling between my main job and a movie translation that took most of my time after work. I'm not complaining at all as I'm very lucky to make a living with two things I love but that means that I'm not always as consistent as I would love to be on the blog.

Autumn - A Declaration of Love

4.10.16
I don't know about you, but each Spring and each Autumn, I feel very tempted to renew my wardrobe completely. Of course, I am aware that it's not a real need but the change of season makes me want to move on.

Take a bow

9.9.16
Remember when I said I didn't like pink? I still don't, but what I like very much is the cut of that Manoush dress. And that bow!

La Robe Vichy

3.9.16

So I've been back to England for a few days but I utterly refuse to admit that Summer is about to end. My friend Elodie and I spent a whole afternoon in France shooting outfits for the blog as the light was great so fortunately I have a few more Summer outfits for you before we have to definitely stock our Summer clothes under the bed...

Orange and Mint

10.8.16
I might as well warn you now: you're not finished seeing these shoes and this bag. I feel like I've found my perfect Summer accessory duo that fits any outfit and I really enjoy having a small bag to carry everywhere with me. Not that I don't like my leather satchels anymore, but they are heavy and it's too hot in France to have the feeling I'm carrying a bag full of stones.

I've got the blouse

29.7.16
I know, I know. Consistency is not the best word to describe myself at the moment! But I'm back and I have done some shopping recently (which means more articles coming, woop woop!)

Rosa

17.5.16

I think I have claimed my love for black before and pink is definitely not a colour I usually like but I had a massive crush on this skirt a while ago. To be honest, I was attracted to the pattern more than the colour and I really liked the cut too. I felt like revolutionising my wardrobe when I ordered it and that's probably the moment I started to consider buying more colourful clothes.

Red Bow

8.3.16
 Hello everyone!

I hope you're all having a good week! As far as I'm concerned, I'm already thinking about my next holiday, and to be honest, I can't even wait until it's the Summer again. I think I'm not meant to survive in the cold and I really need to get some sun and warmth! I know, I'm weak. But hey, 26 years of bad habits in the south of France can't be wiped out that easily!

The Plot

26.2.16
Hello everyone!

I know it's been ages now but February has been frantic! Anyway, I've got a bit of time for myself at last and I'm back with a new outfit :)

Long Time No See

8.2.16
Hello everyone!

It's taken me ages to post anything recently because I haven't had time to take pictures but I'm back now and I have some outfits ready for you!

A Weekend in Venice

29.1.16

Hello everyone!
I'm very excited to share my trip to Venice with you, although I don't know where to start. The place is just amazing, and even if I had high expectations about this trip, I still didn't expect that! During a weekend, I felt like I had been time travelling. I think that pictures will always say more than long sentences so I have included a selection of my favourite pictures.

Plume

15.1.16
It's hard to take decent pictures at the moment as it gets dark at 3. Believe it or not, these pics were taken in the morning (and it was freezing)!

So to brighten up January, I try to wear a bit more colour. Now don't think I'm turning into a parrot, I still love a good black outfit.

Jeans and Tux

12.1.16
I have a terrible habit when I go back to France: I always go to Zara and end up buying more than I actually intended to. Now I know, there is a Zara shop very close to my place in England but it's not the same... Zara in my home town feels like my second house. I usually go back to France when I'm on holiday, which involves a lot of free time and well... Bad habits come back very quickly you know!

Smart but comfortable

4.1.16
Happy new year everyone!

I hope that you have had an amazing end of year and that you enjoyed the holiday (or at least the bank holidays) like I did. Wishing you the best for 2016 now: meeting new people, enjoying life, travelling, having great food and most importantly, sharing love around you.
And speaking of travelling, I am going to Venice at the end of the month and I think I might make an article about it so let me know if you are interested.
